Contributor Program

The Islandora Foundation seeks to be open and inclusive to those that cannot pay a membership fee. For this reason, the Islandora Foundation encourages participation of individuals through the contributor program. Corresponding benefits can be for the individual participating or for their institution.

Commit to act as Chair of an Approved Interest Group


Available if there is evidence of sustained participation in an interest group (subject to Coordinating Committee approval).

  • 50% discount for 1 event registration per year (to be taken by contributor or transferable to the institution)
  • Credited on the islandora-community wiki and/or website (preference for individual and/or institution to be indicated at time of application to the program)

Commit to act as a Core TAG member or the Chair of the ICC

Available if there is evidence of sustained participation in the community.
For the Coordinating Committee, a person wishing to serve will have to complete some ‘ramp-up’ period acting as co-chair to the current chair, in order to accommodate onboarding. This means that the term could be closer to 18 months.
  • 1 free event registration per year (to be taken by contributor or transferable to the institution)
  • Appointment of 1 representative to the IF Coordinating Committee (If a committer takes on TAG core membership, they can also be on the Coordinating Committee, or transfer this benefit to their organization)
  • Credited on the islandora-community wiki and/or website (preference for individual and/or institution to be indicated at time of application to the program)

Donations to the Islandora Foundation

Islandora is a federally incorporated, soliciting non-profit based in PEI, Canada. We are pleased to accept donations towards development projects and priorities for the community. Donations can be made as cash and in-kind. If you are interested in making an in-kind or financial donation, please contact us at community@islandora.ca.

Grant Development with the Islandora Foundation

The Islandora Foundation is happy to partner with eligible organizations for the development of grant opportunities that forward software and community development. Islandora Foundation staff may be available to help with grant proposal writing and reporting.

Service Provider Partnerships

The Islandora Foundation values its community of service providers, and we are open to partnering with providers to support key software development and community priorities.

How can I contribute?

For your software contributions to be included, complete the contributor license agreement and make pull requests to the appropriate repository in the Islandora Foundation Github.
