Islandora 7 and 8: Version Support Timeline

As Islandora 8 (known during development as Islandora CLAW) swiftly approaches its first official release, the Islandora Foundation would like to clarify our plans for continued support for active versions of our platform.

Our campaign is over! The 7.x-1.12 Release is ready; time to level up

Congratulations, adventurers! Our campaign has drawn to a close. Great battles were waged and won against a swarm of bugs. Intrepid documentors have bravely explored and mapped our realm updated our READMEs. Powerful magics were wielded to indelibly alter the landscape in the form of new features. It was a great adventure, and our party has emerged victorious from the deep dungeons of code review, with the Release of Islandora 7.x-1.12!

7.x-1.12: Roll initiative, for the RELEASE has arisen once again!

Hail, Islandorans! Heed the call to adventure!

As the brutal heat of the summer begins to fade, you find yourselves in a tavern, surrounded by the chatter of other Islandorans discussing Solr configs, new collections, and boasting about giant bugs bravely squashed. Suddenly, a dark shadow falls across the land. An imposing figure looms over the horizon: the dreaded Release has arisen again!

Release Notice for Islandora 7.x-1.10

We’ve rolled another lobster! Islandora 7.x-1.10 is hot off the presses (well, cooling a bit since yesterday), and is available

  • By checking out the 7.x-1.10 branches of all our Git repos*

  • or, as a Virtual Machine [1] (not to be used in production)

  • or, as individual downloads on the Release Notes and Downloads page [2].

* Except Tuque, which has release branch 1.10, and Islandora Drupal Filter, which if you’ve already installed you don’t need to update.

7.x-1.10 Release POSTPONED to Nov 7

Lovely Islandorans!

We are postponing the release by a week.

I’m afraid you’re going to have to until November the 7th before getting the 7.x-1.10 release.

Why? We’re not done yet! The testing/documenting sheet is still showing a lot of red.

Islandora 7.x-1.10 RC2 is ready!

Hot off the presses, a second release candidate to keep you cosy as the weather cools down. Or if you're in Atlantic Canada, hits record highs for no discernible reason. Climate change may have done in the dinosaurs, but lobsters won't go down without a fight (or at the very least, archiving and preservation protocols).
