Islandora

Islandora is a completely free open-source software framework designed to help institutions and organizations and their audiences collaboratively manage and discover digital assets using a best practice framework.  Islandora is implemented and supported by an ever-growing international community.

Built on a base of Drupal, Fedora, and Solr, Islandora's flexibility empowers users to work with a huge variety of data types (such as image, video, and pdf) and knowledge domains (such as Chemistry and the Digital Humanities) and provides integration with additional viewers, editors, and data processing applications.

Islandora at Open Repositories 2017

Next week the Open Repositories conference in Brisbane, Australia will begin. Islandora will be there, with an exhibit table where you can stop by to chat and pick up the latest and greatest in laptop stickers, an electronic poster in the Cube, and several sessions that may be of interest to our community:

2017 Islandora AGM - July 14, 2-3 PM EST

The Islandora Foundation Annual General Meeting will be held July 14th from 2:00 - 3:00 PM Eastern. We invite members institutions to designate a representative to vote at the AGM.

New York Academy of Medicine Library Launches New Digital Collections

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New York (June 6, 2017) - The New York Academy of Medicine Library announced today the launch of its new digital collections and exhibits website, hosted on the open-source framework Islandora and accessible at http://digitalcollections.nyam.org/. The new site makes it easy for the public to access and explore highlights of the Library's world-class historical collections in the history of medicine and public health.
