Islandora as a Data Repository

UPEI's CANARIE-grant funded Research Data Management project addressed some IR-related features, including DOIs, citation generation, usage tracking, versioning, user-managed submissions with an editorial workflow, and a "resource" comprising one or more original files. This talk will introduce our solutions to those challenges as well as where improvements would be welcomed. Project information and documentation is at https://islandora-rdm.researchspaces.ca/

Islandora 8 as an IR: Leveraging the power of Drupal

 

Simon Fraser University is in the process of preparing to migrate its Institutional Repository from a very shaky Drupal 6 site to Islandora 8. The project has included a deep look at the requirements and identified potential development needed to achieve the goal of a more user friendly, functional and modern IR.

A document needs to pass through many hands before it gets published in your IR? The tools are built right into the core of Drupal. This session will walk through how to use Content Moderation to build complex, multi-party workflows in Islandora 8.
