Islandora Labs has gained a couple of new repositories over the last few months. These are modules that were developed by members of the Islandora community and given to the Islandora Foundation via our Licensed Software Acceptance Procedure. By moving into Islandora Labs, these modules become more open for community contributions and hopefully more noticeable for adoption. If they become widely used by the Islandora community, they may eventually move from Labs into the Islandora release.
Developed by Florida Virtual Campus in collaboration with Florida State University's Bryan Brown, Islandora Usage Stats Callbacks is a helper module that uses the data collected by the Islandora Usage Stats and exposes it via URL callbacks.
Developed by the Digital Initiatives team at the University of Toronto Scarborough, this solution pack provides a content model for Oral Histories and a viewer for displaying timed text content (XML or WebVTT) alongside video and audio files.
The software leverages the existing Video and Audio solution packs to create derivatives from source files, and provides the ability to append a transcript and closed captioning file that is then exposed in a video.js based player. Transcripts can contain multiple tiers corresponding to different languages and speakers. The module is designed to accommodate any time-encoded description of a video or audio file.
