Islandora is an open-source software framework designed to help institutions and organizations and their audiences collaboratively manage, and discover digital assets using a best-practices framework.  Islandora was originally developed by the University of Prince Edward Island's Robertson Library, but is now implemented and contributed to by an ever-growing international community.

The Islandora Roadmap Committee is now the Islandora Coordinating Committee

The Islandora Roadmap Committee is changing its name to the Islandora Coordinating Committee. This change is intended to address some confusion about the role of this important group, which meets up every other week to work on how our community works together. They are the body primarily responsible for our Code of Conduct, workflows, and for overseeing and liaising with our many Interest Groups. Their full Terms of Reference are here.

Islandora Camp HRM Coming in 2018

Islandora Camp is coming to Atlantic Canada! July 18 - 20, 2018, we will be gathering in historic Halifax, Nova Scotia, on the campus of Mount Saint Vincent University. The Halifax Regional Municipality is a city of around 400,000 with seven post-secondary institutions, a vibrant waterfront, and easy transport to some of the best attractions that east-coast that Canada has to offer in the summer. 

Registration will open in late 2017 at our usual CAD rates of $450 Early Bird and $499 Regular, so stay tuned and save the date.

CLAW Install Sprint Recap

We've just wrapped up our first community sprint on providing a more modular and flexible installer using Ansible, and it was totally awesome. Our team of active community volunteers tackled Ansible head on and nearly brought claw-playbook to feature parity with claw_vagrant. This means that once a few outstanding issues are resolved, claw-playbook will not only replace claw_vagrant for development environments, but can also be used to install CLAW on bare metal!
