Islandora Camp 2011
Cost: 250$
This year, Islandora Camp will have two streams - developer, and non-developer (select when registering).
Come learn, work, and play at this year’s Islandora camp. Held between July 20-22, the second Islandora camp provides introductory and intermediate sessions conducted by the Islandora specialists.
In the morning, sessions will be held for special Islandora topics. Beginners can learn the basics of building and configuring collections in Islandora and seasoned developers can participate in advanced sessions. In the afternoon, folks will have the opportunity either to work on the development of a collection in Islandora (from data they bring with them or can access remotely) or to work on an Islandora challenge.
When you register, you will have the oppourtunity to submit an islandora challenge - this can be anything from a feature request, to integration with new applications and software, to the development of customized workflows. Throughout the camp, Islandora developers and librarians will be available to help you learn to customize Drupal at your home institution. You will also have the opportunity to learn about our roadmap and become a part of the project.
Note: CAUL member institutions. We will likely have a special session on the CAIRN project. The CAIRN project aims to construct a repository for CAUL member institutions collaboratively. At a minimum, CAIRN participants will spend afternoons with our staff and other CAUL colleagues discussing this project, and learning about the way the system works.
